Hi,
I have a queue manager created, now it has log file size disables in its property pages.
I can only increase number of primary/secondary fiels in that property page using MQSEries services.

Is there any way through which i can increase the log file size og MQSeries?
I want to do this because my message is failing sometimes giving 8030 as Reason code.

Also, can I export all queues to some file and the delete existing queue manager. Then recreate another with same name. And then import all queues exported?

Let me know your suggestions.
Thanks,
Plad

You can't change the log file size without deleting and rebuilding the queue manager.

You should be able to increase the number of log files, so that there is sufficient space for your messages.

Or you can use the saveqmgr support pack (if you spend TWO MINUTES searching here for "support pack", you will find 100 or more threads that have the URL in them, so look! don't ask!) to save your queue manager definitions into a file, then you can delete it and use runmqsc to rebuild your objects after you create the new queue manager.

You can change the log file size, but you have to decide for simpler way. This info worked correctly on Unix platform:

Would increasing the number of secondary log files from a default of 2 to 20 help ? Assuming the disk space is available of course...

Thanks

Increasing the total number of log files will help - assuming that there is enough diskspace!

The decision to increase primary or secondary depends on the situation.
Is this a one time or infrequent occurance? Then increase secondary.

Is this a routine change in message size and volume, that is expected to be needed most of the time? Then increase primary.
