Hi folks

We are about to upgrade to Workflow 3.4 on z/OS from 3.3.2. What are the implications? I understand that the there is a conversion to be done. Is this a big task? Has anyone got any experiences they care to share?

ps. We are MQ 5.3 CSD07 on Windows and 5.3.1 on z/OS

Why not to V3.5. I would highly recommend going direct.

I am assuming here that 3.5 is now available on zOS.

John,

Long story about why not 3.5 not least of which is that we have 3.4 bundled in with the current operating system. From what I understand 3.4 to 3.5 is pretty straightforward and the 'leap of faith' is from 3.3.2. to 3.4.

The bottom line is that although migrating to 3.5 would be preferable, it ain't about to happen anytime soon here. We need to get to 3.4 in a hurry as we need to

a) get supported
b) positon ourselves for 3.5 next year
c) get ready for a data center move at the ned of the year.

So we need to get to 3.4 before December. We only have 4 workflow systems on 3 LPARS so we want to get started right away to hit change windows.

Makes sense.... Hopefully one of our regulars who uses MQWF on zOS will step up for you here. I have no experience with MQWF on that platform.
