Hi All,
I am trying to instal MQSeries v5.2 on HP UX 11.00 server. We are faving the below error while instaling it with swinstall:
*************************
ERROR: Could not access remote file "/opt/mqm/inc/CMQBOL" in software item "MQSERIES.MQM-BASE,r=B.11.520.00,a=HP-UX_B.11_700/800,v=:/opt/mq due to an internal error on the remote system.
ERROR: Failed installing fileset "MQSERIES.MQM-BASE,r=B.11.520.00".
Check the above output for details.

Pls let us know if anyone has faced this error and solution.

do you install from CD or from a remote depot server?

I am installing from a depot file which is placed on one of my filesystem(/tmp)

For installing we have /tmp/preinstall/amqiclen and
/tmp/hpux11/mqsv520.v11
User and group mqm exist and also directory /var/mqm.
Running swinstall -s $PWD/mqsv520.v11 in /tmp/hpux11 installs the
software without problems.
Did you have installed the recommended patches?

I have followed all the steps that you have mentioned in your reply.
Where can I get the list of the patches that I need to install for installing MqSeries 5.2 on HP UX 11.00?

There are no patches recommended in the installation guide but we always look for new patches for the system on the hp itrc site.

Is there any reason that you want to install MQ 5.2?
MQ 5.2 is out of support and 5.3 is what you should be installing. |

This problem can be caused by a mis-configured network, see Document id: 2200160617 in the HP Knowledge base for an example.

RESOLUTION
Further investigation revealed that the /etc/hosts file contained two
entries for "hostname". The problem was resolved by replacing two
lines:
#127.0.0.1 localhost loopback <hostname>
127.0.0.1 <hostname>
with one line:
127.0.0.1 localhost loopback
Note that another line in /etc/hosts contained the correct ip-address
for <hostname>:
<ip-address> <hostname>
