I checked my work items that should have expired but they were in the same state as before. I checked and found that the scheduling server was "inactive" so I tried to start it. I received this error from fmcautil:

FMCSYS: FMC12300E The scheduling server for system FMCSYS is not responding to control requests.

I went into the fmcsys.log and found this error:
08/25/04 06:29:11 FMC31050E An error has occurred which has terminated processing.
08/25/04 06:29:11 FmcTransXException, ReturnCode=212208/25/04 06:31:10 FMC12300E The scheduling server for system FMCSYS is not responding to control requests.

Does anyone know what might cause the scheduling server not to start?

Any help would be appreciated! (We are on WF 3.4 SP4.)

Thanks!

When I have seen this in the past a restart of MQWF has fixed the problem. Check to see if you have any records on the Hold queue. I have seen this happen once where somehow there was a bad record being sent to the Scheduling server that ended up on the hold queue. I do not know the cause of this

Where do I find the hold queue to see if anything is out there?

Since it is a transaction exception also any info from db2 diaglog helps

Most likely you will have to do the DB rebinds.

Look for errors in MQ and DB2 along with workflow errors

Did you try to manually start the scheduling server using fmcsmain?
