I could not log in to the Siebel application Server using the Object discovery agent. Every time i try to get the Business Objects using ODA i am getting
Error in call: " core.setAgentProperties: Unable to log on to Siebel Application Server. Reason: Could not open a session in 4 attempts {1}.
If I try on other machine I could log on to the application Server. Could some one help me to sort this problem |

So, this is an issue you are having with Websphere Interchange Server, and or the Siebel Connector?
Can you ping the Siebel Application Server from the machine you are trying to use to configure the connector? What about the machine that the ODA is running on? Is that the same machine, or a different one?
This should likely be moved to the general discussion forum - unless sunny999 is using WBIMB/WMQI as his broker instead of ICS. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

I am sorry, I couldnt find the forum for the WBI ICS and I appologize for posting the issue here. I could ping the siebel application from my system but could not send the ODA parameters through the network. The ODA is running on the same machine. Even if I unhook the network cable, I am getting the same error. I appreciate if you help me any thing about it jeff. |

Lick the contacts of the CAT5 connector, everything will be fine. |

No, it's not a problem that you posted here, necessarily.
ICS is still a bit of a stepchild here. I don't know it well enough myself to say that I can solve your problem, but I'll try.
It sounds like the ODA can't make a connection to the Siebel Server. Are you getting any kind of error message from the ODA? Are you running the ODA from a command prompt, or from a service type thing?
Does the ODA show up in the discovery list when you try to get New Objects from it?
Are you getting any error messages on the Siebel side, when you try but fail to connect? _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

I am starting the ODA from command prompt. When I am using the New Business object wizard using the ODA, I could not able to connect to the Siebel application server. The error message which I am getting is:
Error in call: " core.setAgentProperties: Unable to log on to Siebel Application Server. Reason: Could not open a session in 4 attempts {1}. |

Okay, sorry. You posted that error message, and it didn't click.
Is there some sort of tool you can use to manually log onto the Siebal App server from the machine in question?
Are you putting in all the correct properties when configuring the ODA?
That is, if you try running the ODA on a machine that you know you can connect to Siebel from, does the ODA connect with the same parameters?
Also, again, is the Siebel server complaining about the connection attempts in any way? _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |
