Hi
We're relatively new to message flows and are just starting to deploy in anger.
We're running WMQ5.3 CSD6 and WMQI 2.1 CSD 6 on AIX 5.1.
We have about 40 flows running in a development environment, over 7 brokers, each with 1 execution group, and we are seeing big degradation in memory (compared to NEON which is what we mostly use).
Most of our flows are fairly simple, non-persistent with a couple of compute nodes, a throw node, and IO nodes, using the MRM.
We want to try to predict how much memory we will require for future growth. Currently we seem to be using anything from 500 to 2000 slots of paging for each new connection - but this seems to vary a lot - even running the same flows on the different brokers gives different answers when we start a connection. It also looks like we're seeing free memory decrease when these flows and connections are reused multiple times (ie not only when they start up at first).
The performance support pacs don't really give any guidance to how much memory a flow might use - apart from minimum spec for the machines.
We can see that memory usage seems to plateau after a while (which goes against a memory leak) but how can we best predict this level???
Has anyone else had similar issues or done any investigation into this?
