Hello,
I am having problems with MQSeries Workflow 3.4 Services on Windows XP. I installed and configured Workflow successfully. But when I start my workflow service, it is stopping immediately. It is giving an error like this:
The MQSeries Workflow 3.4 - FMC service on Local Computer started and then stopped. Some services stop automatically if they have no work to do, for example, the Performance Logs and Alerts service.
Can anybody tell me how can I fix this problem.

An FDC is usually cut for a 2195. Post it here.
Also do database rebinds. |

WebSphere MQ received an unexpected return code when calling XA resource
manager DB2 FMCDB1 at its xa_open entry point. This indicates an internal
error, either within MQ or the resource manager.
ACTION:
Try to determine the source of the error. A trace of the failure could be used
to look at the XA flows between MQ and the resource manager. MQ has allocated
an RMId of 1 to this resource manager. This will be useful when isolating the
flows associated with the resource manager concerned. If the error occurs on an
xa_commit or xa_rollback request, the queue manager will not attempt to
redeliver the commit or rollback instruction for this transaction, until after
the queue manager has been restarted. The transaction indoubt is identified by
the following XID of X'000000000000000000000000'. If you think that the error
lies within the queue manager, contact your IBM support center. Do not discard
any information describing the problem until after the problem has been
resolved.

I believe SQLCode 998 is indicative of an authentication problem (a password problem [edited]). Especially with Reason code 4, subcode 4. Have a look at the SQL messages manual.
I suspect that your database password has probably changed. This can be reset from fmczutil.

| I checked the password and did the rebinds too. But still the services are stopping as soon as I start it. Any other suggestions. |

If you are sure that the password is OK, (04-04 indicates its too long), then I would open a PMR.

You are correct. My password is of 12 characters. But which is same as my network password. Do you think, that should be the problem ? Or you want me to change the password upto 8 characters. Please let me know, I will try.

I've changed the password to 8 Characters, and created a new configuration. Configuration was successful. But this time, I was not able to locate the Workflow Services.
with fmcamain:
The service process could not connect to the service controller.
with fmcatuil:
FMC00013E Communication error - Failing Action: open, Reason Code:2085, Failing Object: FMC.FMCGRP.FMCSYS.ADM.

On Windows if you want start workflow, from command prompt enter:

If you just type fmcamain it will give the following error:

I got through from this problem, by recreating a password with 8 Characters in DB2 and with a fresh workflow configuration. Thanks for all your time.
