After reviewing my trace log I recieved the following error on a TDS Message Set (Physical Format):

BIP2543E: Node 'SAP_ZWMMBID01_TO_PMX_STOCK_STATUS.IDOC_to_XML': (34, 80) : Failed to navigate to path element because it does not exist.

I need more insight on what this error truely is. What does "path element" refer to? I get this for every field that is contained within this message set.

Please post other errors you got in the trace. They may provide further information.

This error most likely refers to something you are doing in ESQL.
You may be referencing a field in the input message which does not exist.
Trace the input message, check it looks like you expect. Compare it to your ESQL.
