Good Monday Morning!! I hope you guys are geared up for another crazy week.

We have some queue managers which do not have SYSTEM.ADMIN.SVRCONN channel defined, but have SYSTEM.DEF.SVRCONN channel which the clients use to connect. Can MQJExplorer or for that matter MQExplorer be configured to use SYSTEM.DEF.SVRCONN instead of SYSTEM.ADMIN.SVRCONN. I assume they both use the latter to connect.

Thanks in Advance

MQExplorer definitly cannot be changed. Not 100% sure on MQJExplorer, but I doubt it. I don't remember that being an option when I fooled around with a while back.

despite the name... no Qmgr has a SYSTEM.ADMIN.SVRCONN by default,
you always have to define one.

Are you not able to define one or did I answer your question?

Michael,
They have been defined on some but not on others. For not having to go through defining them, we want to use what is existing. Especially the mainframe qmgrs in uat and prod which only people in my group have access to.

My question however was not specific to our environment but about those tools. It would have been nice if we had the luxuy of specifying the channel name.

Peter, there is definitely nothing on the graphical interface to set the channel names(if I checked everything out), but I thought maybe some geeks here have a workaround or a modified version of the tool. I know Kolban developed the tool and is a frequent visitor to this site.

Thanks you both.

Last I heard he's still at IBM, but is very busy and unfortunately is unable to visit the site very often...
