Can anyone post a quick and dirty setup to do remote administartion from a NT box to a solaris box. (i.e. the inetd.conf settings and the /etc/services settings) along with anything else that I might need? I am trying to use the CommerceQuest tool but I've run into more issues than Magic Johnson into Woman.
Thanks |

Have you read the section on Remote Administration in the System Admin Guide. And also the section on using the Snap-Ins.
What have you tried.

Hi,
I would send an email or phone CommerceQuest because they would best know how to fix your problem.
First off, what error(s) are you getting? i.e. CompCode & ReasonCode
Debugging these kinds of is far easier if you start the listener via runmqlsr rather than using inetd.
Is your listener running for that particular queue manager? Did you give it a unique port number? What did you configure in inetd.conf and services file or did you use runmqlsr?
Did you review the steps in chapter 13 of the WMQ Intercommunication manual or chapter 5 of the WMQ Clients manual ?
Also, does the CommerceQuest tool use a SVRCONN channel? If so, did you define one?
Regards,

CommerceQuest does use a SVRCONN connection. I get error Completion Code 2, Reason Code 2035. I setup a channel per the MQ manuals called SYSTEM.ADMIN.SVRCONN. I am guessing it has something to do with my MCAUSER?
Any ideas?
Thanks |

2035 is a authorisation problem. If you search this forum you should find more than enough information.
Be aware that if you add a user to the SVRCONN channel, then anyone who uses that channel is fully authorised.
