MQ Visual Edit - HOW TO
Q. How do I load more than 1 file at a time to a queue?
A. Do the following steps:- Open the queue, click File->Open Queue and select your queue
- Click Edit->Import Messages
- Navigate to the directory
- SINGLE left-click on the 1st file (do NOT double click or click open yet)
- Now scroll to the last file and SINGLE left-click on the last file. Note: On some Operating Systems you need to press CTRL-SHIFT and Left click
- Click Open Each message will be loaded into the queue as a separate message. i.e. 1 message per file.

Q. How do I put the same message to a queue 1000 times?
A. Do the following steps:- Start the PutServer, click Tools->Put Server
- Click Select and select your queue
- Type the user data into the 'screen data' section,
- Select the max number to write (i.e. 1000),
- Then click 'Start'. This will create 1000 new messages each with a unique MsgID value.

Q. How do I put the same message from a file to a queue 1000 times?
A. Do the following steps:- Start the PutServer, click Tools->Put Server
- Click Select and select your queue
- Click the 'Load message data from a text file' radio button
- Click Browse and navigate to the directory and select a file name
- Select the max number to write (i.e. 1000),
- Then click 'Start'. This will create 1000 new messages each with a unique MsgID value.

Q. How do I save both the MQMD and message data to a file?
A. Do the following steps:- Open the queue, click File->Open Queue and select your queue
- Highlight the messages to be saved or click View->Select All to select all messages in the queue
- Click File->Backup Queue
- Navigate to the directory
- Input a file name and with the extension of VEQ (i.e. mybackup.veq )
- Click Save This will backup the selected messages including both the MQMD and message data to a single file.

Q. How do I save messages to a plain text file?
A. Do the following steps:- Open the queue, click File->Open Queue and select your queue
- Highlight the messages to be saved or click View->Select All to select all messages in the queue
- Click Edit->Export Messages
- Input a path and file name or click Browse and navigate to the directory and input a file name
- Now decide where you want all messages written to the same plain text file or each message to a separate file.
- Click Save This will write the selected messages to plain text files or to one single plain text file.

Q. How do I do replay messages?
A. First save the messages to be replayed by doing the following steps:- Open the queue, click File->Open Queue and select your queue
- Highlight the messages to be saved or click View->Select All to select all messages in the queue
- Click File->Backup Queue
- Navigate to the directory
- Input a file name and with the extension of VEQ (i.e. mybackup.veq )
- Click Save Now whenever the user wants to replay the saved set of messages just do the following:- Open the queue, click File->Open Queue and select your queue
- Click File->Restore Queue
- Navigate to the directory and select the VEQ file and then click Open
- The saved messages will be put to the queue This will EXACTLY replay the saved messages. Exactly means the originally saved MsgID, CorrelID, etc... fields of MQMD will be used for the new messages.
