We have 4 queue managers divided among two server in the eastern part of the US that are connected to two qmgrs on separate servers in the midwest. Sporadically we see buildup on the xmitq although the channels are running. This occurs both ways and furthermore the two queue managers that are located in the midwest are connected to multiple other qmgrs and don't have this issue when communicating with them. Completely lost......it doesn't appear to be associated with load because we see this occur when volume is low as well. |

You will get build up on the xmitq every time the following occurs:
The put rate to the queue is higher than the get rate.
-- The put rate is given by the applications that put messages on the remote queues using this xmitq
-- The get rate depends on your channel message bundling size, and tcp/ip network connection parms, and size of messages (rollback segment etc...), and bandwidth ... and ....
Hope this helps some.

Also, the putting apps can be putting the messages with the syncpoint_yes option. Until they commit those messages, they will show up as depth on the XMIT queue, but the MCA will not be able to get them off the queue and down the channel. _________________ Peter Potkay

And don't discount interuptions in internet or network connectivity...
Your messages may be getting rolled back onto the sending queue, but that should be in your logs. _________________ Patrick Goodhart
