Hi ,
does it make sence that MQ Workflow and Process Choreographer work together. Are they not have the same focus --> Business Process Integration ? When Yes , it is better to use the Business Process Choreographer because MQWorkflow is not strategic for IBM ?!?
Does it give diffrencies between this tools ?

PSN,
I think this depends on the situation. While the IBM Websphere MQSeries Workflow product is supported, think of a customer base that might perhaps have several hundreds of already existing business process models that were done using the workflow products and engines.
Now imagine if the customer was NOT interested in transforming all of those (atleast immediately) to WPC, but had a requirement to add new business processeses which may perhaps have a closer ties to technolgies such as J2EE, or more so WebServices/plugins etc; It would make sense to develop those models using the Websphere Process Choreographer as WPC can work very easily in conjunction with Web services, and workflow might not so easily.
In such a case, it might make sense to use both and this is something that is indeed done. You could have your workflow business process models on the workflow side perform their work upto the point where it's needed and then invoke the WPC process model which would deal with all the web services etc aspects of the BPM. Then again, it's also boils down to a design choice and also the answer to up until how long the MQWF product will be supported.
I think you will find this article very interesting..

As John said in the thread posted before mine by Manoj, is that eventually the MQWF product will be replaced by the WPC product, although that might be a couple of years.

Yep, there is stuff missing from choreographer that is in WMQWF. Notifications for example. Also, WBI monitor and modeller initial support is still 4/5 months away.
You must take maturity into account as well, most new projects I hear of are still kicking off with WMQWF, it's a much lower risk option at the moment because of skills availability. |
