All,
I need to feedback on a decent number of primary logs and log size. I read in the documentation that it is possible to change the number of log files but you cannot change the size. I was able to find the following information:
1. Our client will send approximately 200 requests a day
2. The order request size are about 3 KB
3. We can send up to 6 status message once the order request is receive, each being 500 Bytes.
4. At the end, we send a complete message to the client which is around 20 KBytes.
Each client will be handled by a queue manager and there will be 2 clients to start with. I don't think we will ever have more than 2 or 3 clients.
We have about 60 GB of free space on the server.
Thanks,
Sas |

Just make them as big as possible. Why would you not? _________________ Peter Potkay

Sounds good.
Now concerning the backups, any suggestions based on this scenario? It is not very clear to me (note that I still have some reading to do!) how the backups are done. Do you backup the data and log folders or use some tools such as saveqmgr, dmpmqlog and/or rcdmqimg?
