I am installing the MQ 5.3 and Integrator Broker 2.1 on a New machine.
We have it installed on a separate machine which is working. But I have to have a backup machine with the exact configuration on a new machine.
Is there anyway to copy all the configuration from the old machine to the new machine. We are running it against DB2. What are the different steps required for this?
I am new to this so any help would be appreciated. |

It's depend on platform. When you are trying on windows this may be very problematic, because important configurations information are stored in the registry (MQ and MQSI, too).

I am installing on Windows 2000. Does that mean all the configuration has to be done all over again? Also, How different is MQSI V5.2 from 2.1?
Thanks for your response. |

If you need to set up an inactive (cold) standby machine, then you should use regular system level backup tools to backup the current machine, and then restore that backup to the new machine.
If you need some sort of active or an automated failover standby machine, you are going about it completly wrong.
And there is no MQSI v5.2. In fact, there isn't an MQSI v2.1. The products that IBM has released are MQSI 2.0.x, WMQI 2.1.x, WMQIB 2.1.x, WBIMB 5.0.x, WBIEB v 5.0.x.
There is an entirely separate and unrelated numbering scheme for WMQ. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |
