Hi all,

I have wbimb - message brokers toolkit installed. I have created a new domain, to connect to a remote config manager. I am able to connect and deploy fine some times. But some times, when I try to connect to this config manager, the following exception occurs.

======================================
BIP0800E An unexpected exception occurred:
Java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError

Reason:

A java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError exception occurred which reported the following message:
com/ibm/etools/mft/admin/ui/model/MulticastQualityOfSecurity.

Turn on tracing to capture details of the error. Retry the operation and contact your IBM support center
=========================================

This occurs randomly, in the sense that I am able to connect and deploy fine at times and I run into this error at times, the next time I turn my PC on and start the toolkit.

Has anyone seen this error before? Any ideas on what is going on. Please help.

Thanks in anticipation.

I do not have any CSDs applied to wbimb.

I have MQ 5.3 CSD05 and DB2 8.1 Fixpak3

Well, apply the latest CSD on your box and I'm sure the problem will go away.

You must have at least one CSD applied.

WBIMB does not run at all without CSD01.

You should be running AT LEAST csd02, and probably CSD03.

This applies both to your Toolkit machines and your broker machines.

n.b. If you install WBIMB CSD03, you'll also need to upgrade to DB2 8.1 FixPack 4a or 5

(available here http://www-306.ibm.com/cgi-bin/db2www/data/db2/udb/winos2unix/support/v8fphist.d2w/report).

Regards,
Nick.

I have applied CSD02. It did not fix the original error.

Besides, now when I open the toolkit, the option to create a new Message Definition File does not show up anymore (when I do File-->New). I am not able to create new message definition files. I can edit existing mxsd files, but cannot create new ones.

The "About Message Brokers Toolkit" Dialog box (Help-->About Message Brokers Toolkit...) is still showing version 5.0.0. I am assuming it should be showing 5.0.2. That makes me wonder if the csd was installed properly (I haven't noticed anything weird during the installation though. It went thru just fine).

Is there any other way to verify if the CSD installation went thru fine?

If you honestly did have the GA version installed, you will have to uninstall, reinstall the GA, and then immediately run the CSD installer.

If you install the GA, and do almost anything with it, you've broken things that can't be fixed without an uninstall.
