In MQSI V2 control center, you can create and switch between workspace easily. I was wondering if I can do the samething under V5. I was told that I can be prompted by the toolkit to select which workspace at toolkit start time, if I did not slect the 'use default workspace' option at install time. I don't remember seeing that option when I installed the toolkit. It is now starting with the default workspace everytime.

the -data option of mqsistudio.exe is what you are looking for

Johnathan is absolutely spot on but to add there is in my view better access in V5 because you can connect to multiple config managers at the same time from within the same workspace aother nd therefore deploy to those through the broker perspective without having to reconnect or open another CC.
