Dear Friends,
We plan to change the OS/390 codepage from 500 to 37 (All 3270 terminals use Code page 37).
I understand there would be some difference in the interpretation of special characters with this.
We have a number of MQSeries applications running on OS/390. Is there any easy way to accomodate this change without touching the applications themselves. (Like setting MQCCSID etc)
Also, these applications send messages to AIX servers. Will there be any impact to these messages due to this code page change ?
What is the best way to handle this change from an MQSeries perspective ?
Thanks & Regards,
Aravind |

Hi,
This is in the manual (MQ System Administration, I believe).
First stop ALL channels (and I do mean ALL). Then do the following command:
Code: |
alter qmgr ccsid(037) |
Now start all of your channels.
If you don't want to stop all of your channels (maybe you have hundreds), then just do the alter command and then recycle your queue manager (including the listener).
