Hi,
I am preparing a disaster recovery server in case our production MQ server dies. Now, if a failure happens, our client will point to our DR server in order to send their requests. However, the sequence number for the channels will be out of synch. (I assume).
If this is true, what are the implications?
Thank you all,
Sas |

You will need to get them in sync for the Channel to start. It won't if the Sending and Receiving ends don't match.
Easiest way is to use a RESET CHANNEL(<Channel name>) SEQNUM(1) at the Sender end. This will automatically set the Receiver as well.

That will reset the channel sequence number to 1. Will that affect other things that rely on the channel sequence numbers? Is there anything relying on the sequence numbers I should be aware of?
Thanks! |

You could use any number other than 1.
You could also see what the Sender Channel has for a sequence number, and then set that only on the Receiver side.
The channel handshake is the only thing that uses the number, so as long as the 2 ends agree, everything is fine. Nothing else uses it.
