My question regards the 3 *.log files (wmqi.debug.log, wmqi.error.log, and wmqi.warning.log) in /var/wmqi/log. Our files are owned by root with permission 750. This is consistent with the documentation found in the Diagnosis manual in the 'Using Logs' section subsection 'Unix: Configuring the syslog daemon.
The problem is that administration of the logs is cumbersome. I don't have root authority, so I can't shrink the logs. Is anyone running successfully with either a different owner (other than root) or update permissions more open than 750.

On our Solaris servers, we've been re-directing wmqi syslog messages from /var/adm/messages to a seperate log file /var/wmqi/log/wmqisyslog for the past 9 months. We changed the owner of the wmqisyslog file from root:other to wmqi:mqbrkrs. This configuration has been working fine for us.
