hi all,
i'm a new to mq. i am trying to install MQ 5.2 on Windows 2000.
the installation process starts properly but after a while i get the following pop up window error :

Error 1309.
Error reading from file: \msi\program files\IBM\MQSeries\Tools\c\samples\xatm\amqsxab0.sqc. Verify that the file exists and that you can access it.

there is no install log file created ........
i've to get this installation process completed by my deadline..... wednesday ......... pls give me suggestions to solve this.

You either don't have the proper security priviledges to perform the install, or you have a bad installation media.

You should also probably not be installing 5.2 these days - since it's not supported.

1. You are not installing 5.2, as that was never an MSI product? Perhaps 5.2.1?

2. As per Jeff's update you really, really should be going to 5.3 - 5.2.* is well out of support, so why start a project on such a back level?

but...

a. Check that the file "\MSI\program files\IBM\MQSeries\Tools\c\Samples\xatm\amqsxab0.sqc" is readable on the CD - copy it locally to see.

b. Try copying the whole CD image onto the machine and installing off that

c. You can get a log out (mqparms.exe /l*voicewarmup c:\msi.log) but I dont think it will help you much

d. Get a filemon (www.sysinternals.com) log of the install and search for that filename - what error is returned
