Hello
I've been asked to come up with some guidance concerning the transfer of persistent messages; each may be 10Mbytes in size.
From your individual experiences, what sizes you suggest for the log files when I create the queue manager ?
We have a single queue manager. The MQ server resides on Solaris 9; some MQ clients are running on Solaris 9, some on Intel. We're using Websphere MQ 5.3
What would you consider an optimal message size beyond which performance is compromised and the possibility of log rollback due to lack of space ? Should we consider segmenting messages ?
Many thanks in advance _________________ MQSI2 certified specialist

As big as MQ will let you. That is only about 4 to 5 Gigs, and what server nowadays doesn't have that capacity? Why limit yourself artificially? _________________ Peter Potkay
Keep Calm and MQ On
We have a few Gb available. I'll give it a go. Thanks for the encouraging feedback. _________________ MQSI2 certified specialist
