Hi All,
Is there a difference between MQ5.2 csd 0 and 8? Does CSD8 mean it underneath the scenes is really MQ5.3?
I wasn't too sure of this and thought I ask you guys...Thanks in advance. _________________ Praveen K. Chhangani,

There never is a CSD0 - I assume you are talking about the unpatched code. CSD08 is the 8th set of maintenance for 5.2 - It has nothing to do with 5.3 at all, that is maintained as a seperate codestream.
Compare this to windows for example... W2k sp4 doesnt make your machine WXP... |

It's a fair question, as another IBM product, DB2 does work in this manner. For instance fixpack 3 for v7.1 migrates DB2 to v7.2 (GA). |

This makes sense Jason. Part of the reason I was confused about this was because I had never heard of CSD0 until it was recently mentioned to me. CSD0 is really as you said the "unpatched" MQ5.2 base install. JT you are very correct about DB2 as well. I guess some products of IBM follow that standard, while others don't.
Thanks for your answers. Appreciate the info on this. _________________ Praveen K. Chhangani,

Praveen,
Not sure if this is relevant, but I would suggest you consider WMQ 5.3 with CSD06 + interim fix. This is because MQ 5.2 is no longer supported. |
