Hi,

I'm using WMQI 2.1 and MQ 5.3.
My message flow has to get messages which are in IDOC format and convert it into flat file messages. The input message involves Japanese characters. To support multi byte japanese characters I've set the CCSID of the queue manager to 1208.
When the mqinput node reads the message and tries to parse it using a neon parser, it throws an exception 'Trailing character from position 1140 ...'.

The same message (with japanese characters) with CCSID 819 works fine. I mean the Neonparser parsers the message properly, but CCSID 819 doesnt work for messages inbound to SAP, so I was advised to use 1208. And 1208 works fine for message inbound to SAP, all the japanese characters are posted properly into SAP.

Any clues?

Just a hint:

Did you have a look at the WebSphere MQ Application Programming Reference Appendix H: Code page conversion?

There are some tables describing the codepages for different languages,
e.g. for Japanese Latin SBCS, Japanese Katakana SBCS ...
