Our internal customer is seeing the MQSeries Java API cause the Windows 2000 system clock to go too fast. They have narrowed the cause down to the MQQueueManager constructor in the com.ibm.mq package.
They use "Websphere MQ classes for Java V5.3.0" with JDK 1.4.2 on Windows 2000 Server SP3. MQQueueManager instances are created using the following constructor signature:
public MQQueueManager(String queueManagerName, Hashtable properties, MQConnectionManager cxManager) Throws MQException.
The behavior is also observable with:
public MQQueueManager(String queueManagerName, Hashtable properties) Throws MQException.
Both, constructors are speeding up the operating system clock. They have tried JDK 1.4.0 and JDK 1.3.6 with the same results.
Has anybody ever seen such a behaviour?
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks! |

Yeah, I've got some code that causes my PC to dematerialize and re-appear in the 16th century...
I would suggest this is a red herring, there isn't even an API in java to set the system clock! let alone speed up time |

I haven't heard of any problems with MQ Java speeding up the system clock. |
