I need some suggestions to place mqipt in the layout.

We have to transfer the data from one company A to another company B.

Both A and B has firewall. A has qmgr and B has a java client. Want to use SSL. Also, both A and B do not want to open other ports on their firewalls. So, how do I place MQIPT at both A and B.

To my understanding, they should be kept this way.

At A:
qmgr <--- mqipt3 <--- httpproxy(firewall) <--- mqipt2 <---

At B:
javaclient ---> mqipt1 ---> httpproxy(firewall) --->

Thanks

It has been a while since I used the MQIPT. However, I'm not sure that I understand your need for mqipt2. I thought the proxy would take you from machine A to machine B. Machine B would then route the request through the HTTP proxy to mqipt1.

One of the sample configurations in the MQITP manual is HTTP proxy configuration. You might want to look it over.

I have read somewhere that firewall administrators prefer requests from known ip rather than unknow ip. .... is the reason for ipt2. ipt2 and http-proxy are in dmz.

I have seen the example configuration of http. However, https config example is what I needed. https one is not clear to me. Are WTE and Tomcat needed really? In case of https, is it correct that the ssl is in between client ipt and qmgr ipt? Does ipt encrypt and decrypt the data it sends and receives? Or do we need to do any configurations apart from setting related to cert-store.

Thanks
