Mrlinuxis referring to the fact that you did not ask a question.
You requested that someone provide a service to you.
If you want someone to just come in and solve your problem, then you should expect to have to pay them for that service.
You seem to be having trouble getting your queue manager to start up automatically on your system.
Can you explain to us what you have tried, how it has worked or not worked, and what specific help you need. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

It's just a question, in testing environment, if we want to start queue manager automatically whenever we reboot , what needs to be done.
May i know the steps to be followed to start queue manager automatically whenever we reboot the system. _________________ chandra mouli

Have you consulted your System Administration documentation for your platform? _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

From my understanind all unix flavour platforms are more or less the same, except may be a few platform specific stuff. So, you could very well look at Aix, solaris books to see if you can resolve your problems. Not always can you find specific books.
Look at this link, Part 5, Chap 15, Looking at problems..., Is your app...
http://publibfp.boulder.ibm.com/epubs/html/amqzag04/amqzag04tfrm.htm
"Tuning performance for nonpersistent messages on AIX
If you are using AIX, consider setting your tuning parameter to exploit full performance for nonpersistent messages. To set this tuning parameter, a root user must issue the command /usr/samples/kernal/vmtune -c 0.
The effect of this command persists until the next reboot. An AIX administrator can add a line such as vmtune:2:once:/usr/samples/kernal/vmtune -c 0 to the system /etc/inittab file to cause the command to be issued on every reboot.
"
---You may try adding strmqm <qmgr name> to this file and see if a reboot works.
I havent done this myself. But if you dig deep in the manuals, you do get either direct answers or get hits you could follow to get to your solution.
Again, am not profounding that this will work, but just a place to start.:)
I always believed that manuals do provide more or less all that you need, may be directly or indirectly. :)
Cheers

You really need to ask your SA to do this for you.
There are standard runcontrol model scripts on HP that can be customized for whatever product needs to be started after reboot.
MQ also should be shutdown when the box is coming down.
You'll want to start MQ under the mqm id. It might be able to be started under root now, but in the past we had had problems doing that.
You should already have a script to start your queue manager rather than simply doing strmqm.
The guts of the script that the SA will run needs to do a "su -c mqm start_up_script".
That will run the start_up_script under mqm.
Good Luck
