I've got a developer who is having some real problems with his workspace. They open an existing *.msgflow and get the message "An error has occured when creating this editor". They delete the flow and flow project, create a new one and are right back to this same error. In the bar file, all the nodes for this flow, named NMCCF_RouteEvaluateFactsReply, are displayed as FCMComposite_1_< some Number>. Where some number appears to be a numbering of the nodes in the message flow. Has any one seem this before? _________________ Thanks!!!

I'd say the Toolkit is not installed properly. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

It's been installed and working just fine for several months. We are trying to reinstall and copy the workspace back in now to see if that helps. Worst case, we can rebuild the workspace but we'd like to avoid that if possible. _________________ Thanks!!!

Talked to IBM about this issue. See text below...
----------------------------------------------------------
This problem of 'Unable to create part: Messageflow Editor' followed by 'An error has occured when activating this view' is a known issue.
.
Our development has investigated this problem and discovered while attempting to copy / paste nodes from one flow to another that there is an issue when the source flow or project is closed. A toronto defect 31045 has been raised and the fix will be part of the next CSD (CSD#4 available 7/4/2004).
.
Until this CSD delivery, and to avoid this pitfall, customer should proceed as described below:
.
When copying and pasting NODES or flows from one file into another, customer should keep the original file or project open until saving the target file. Moreover, if they close the original file or project and then save the target file again it will result in the same problem.
.
So, to avoid this pitfall they should do the following:
1. Copy and paste nodes from file A into file B.
2. Keep file A open. Save file B.
3. Close and reopen file B.
After step 3, file B will be completely independent of file A, and customer is guaranteed not to run into this problem.
.
Note that copying and pasting FLOW files themselves (in the workbench's Resource Navigator) will never cause this problem in any way...
---------------------------------------------
I'm giving this to my development team and will have them test to determine if this solves the problem. _________________ Thanks!!!
