I really would like to hear the response of MQ Series Professionals on a statement made by "Technical" manager. The manager made the statement that Database Administrator will replace middleware professional (MQ/MQSI Administrator and developer). His belief was that DBAs responsibilities has always reach over into the middleware arena and will eventually consumed Enterprise Service Bus professionals.
I feel that this line of reasoning is unfounded. How does this manager's statement jive? |

Well, if the DBA is capable of Middleware development and administration, it should work the other way too right. |

Well I am working for a fortune 50 company, so here things might be a bit bigger as elsewhere. But I think our DBAs have just enough work with their DBs. So even if they would be skilled enough to take over the Middleware Area, they wouldn't have time to do it, unless they hire more people. And then, where is the point.
cheers
