Hi,

We've started experiencing issues with deadlocks and timeouts in our test environment due to issues with DB2.

Our DBAs have looked at the databases and are concerned at the lack of Indexes on the tables. In their opinion 90% of our problems would be resolved with proper indexed tables.

I was hoping someone may be able to shed some light on the lack of indexes and any advice on creating our own indexes.

Regards
Carl

Are you talking about user database or broker database?

Can you give an example of Deadlock or timeout message. Are you saying that you get timeout message when trying to deploy someting to the broker?

Your DBAs are correct. This has been fixed (adding indexes) in a later CSD, but I forget which CSD it went into. Ask your account rep to find out or raise a PMR (or just upgrade to a recent CSD)...

Cheers,

Kirani,

The issues occurr mainly on staring WMQI, i believe we are geting 911 error messages.

mgk,

We do have a PMR open with IBM, but as yet they haven't mentioned it being fixed in a CSD. We'll look into this.

Many thanks for the responses
Carl.
