Hi,
How to find the CCSID valuse for the particular O.S.
1) Windows
2) Solaris (Unix)
Currently we are getting new countries added to out production box.
Can any one help me out how to find the CCSID value.
Say for example the new countries are turkey,Japan,Portugal how to find the CCSID value for this countries box.
This will assist me to assign the value for the Queue manager created in that Box (Windows 2000 and Solaris).

Well, there is no straight forward way that i can think of. But here are few ways.
-Look at the readme.css file under conv\table directory on windows MQ install. This file contains all the conversion rules and in the process they include the CCSID's of the respective language.
-You could install mq specifying that language and your MQ installation woud have the default CCSID of that language. Ex: French, japanese.
-If you have qmgrs already created on specific language. Then just issue dis qmgr and you would see the default CCSID for the qmgr.
Also to correct something here, CCSID is not O/s or machine dependent, instead it is the Encoding which is.
Hope this helps.
Cheers
