We are in the process of developing our second workflow system and have run into a design issue. Our users require the ability to perform several sub-processes simultaneously. When these sub-processes are all completed the main process instance can then continue until completion. The problem arises when we are trying to send "sub-instances" for the same instance to several roles simultaneously. Has anyone run into a similar situation? If so, suggestions would certainly be appreciated.

I did not understand you. Do you want to dynamically increase the number of subprocesses invoked?

OK. I will try and be more concise. There is a work instance and there are 7 processes that have to be performed to complete the work instance. However, these 7 processes do not have to happen sequentially. Is there a way to spawn sub-instances to perform these 7 processes simultaneously? We are trying to complete the main instance more quickly and performing these processes simultaneouslty will drastically decrease the completion time for th overall work instance. I hope this is a little better.
