Trying remote admin from W2K laptop running MQSeries 5.2
The target server is Solaris 7/ MQSeries 5.1.
The Server Connection has been defined as follows on Solaris :
define channel(SYSTEM.ADMIN.SVRCONN) chltype(SVRCONN) trptype(TCP) mcauser(sybase)
sybase being part of the mqm group on the Solaris box.
user sybase started the Queue Manager, the command line interpreter (runmqsc) and the listener.
Getting error message:
Acces not authorized. You are not authorized to perform this operation (AMQ4036).
If I try about the same with target server another W2K/MQSeries 5.2, then the error message is
What am I missing ?
BTW, I am able to remote admin another W2K / MQS 5.2 laptop.
thanks in advance.

Ensure that your queue manager has been restarted after adding sybase to the mqm group. |

Or use the runmqsc 'refresh security' command introduced in 5.2.
Cheers,

Hi,
in case u havn't got the solution.
try changing the MCAUSER parm for SYSTEM.ADMIN.SVRCONN channel and add the id 'mqm' (this is a preq for mq installation for mq 5.2 on solaris) or whichever id that owns mqserver process |

TYA, but not yet done
I got now:
Command server not responding within timeout period. Ensure that the command server is running and that the queue called 'SYSTEM.ADMIN.COMMAND.QUEUE' is configured to enable programs to get messages off it. (AMQ4032)
1) Command server is running (runmqsc)
2) Queue 'SYSTEM.ADMIN.COMMAND.QUEUE' has property GET(ENABLED)
I have a strange feeling : despite the message meaning this MessageBox came very FAST to popup ?! (less than a second).
Is my Windows MQ 5.2 able to show a remote QM version 5.1 on Solaris7 ?
thank you for your help.
Arnaud
