i have recently added a second QM2 to the AS400. I have not been able to connect to QM2 from the client or MQ explorer. i can on QM1
tasks completed.
created QM2
started QM2
started listener on port 1416 for QM2
started the command server
created a client server connection using the profile of QMQM with authority to QM2 granted.
the problem:
the client connection is refused with a reason code 2059
MQ explorer will not connect to this QM.

Are you including the port number in the connection information you are providing to MQExplorer. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

That's not my question.
When you "Show Queue Manager" in MQExplorer, are you including the port number in the connection information for a Remote Queue manager, _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

Are you entering the queue manager name with the correct case?
Is there additional information logged on the client machine?
On the server machine? _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

Just to be clear: The port has to be given in the format 123.123.123.123(1416), not in the internet style 123.123.123.123:1416.
If the host address and the port is correct, and a listener is started (is it really started, this means can you see a listening port 1416 on your iSeries?), the you should find an error message in the mq log. What does that say? |
