Hi ,
The connection channel is giving me problem, Following is the message shown in the AMQERR01.LOG
-------------------------------------------------------
04/02/04 16:39:43
AMQ9513: Maximum number of channels reached.
EXPLANATION:
The maximum number of channels that can be in use simultaneously has been
reached. The number of permitted channels is a configurable parameter in the
queue manager configuration file.
ACTION:
Wait for some of the operating channels to close. Retry the operation when some
channels are available.
----- amqrcsia.c : 952

I have max number of channels configured in qm.ini file. This is a problem with the WorkFlow, in the first place, i would like to know why this error is occuring.

I could find the following entry in the dead letter queue
DLH FMCTRIGGER ELFMCQM 3MQTRIG RUNMQTRM 2004032511305632TM XZEL.ELFMCGRP.ELFMCSYS.PROC.EXE /var/fmc/cfgs/ELAN/bin/fmczemst & -i:ExeSvr -y:ELAN

And adding to this, is it mandatory to have clean up server (for clearing instances) running when the adminstrator server is rnning ? as i could see the entry regarding the clean up server also in the dead letter queue.
Please help me out with this.

Regards - Amjad

Can you explain a little more on what the problem is, when you are getting this and what all the symptoms are. I am not quite clear on this but if you could explain a little more maybe we can give it a shot.

Hi We are using MQ 5.3, and WorkFlow 3.4 in the AIX box, and this is a production environment.

we were not allowed to login into the
MQExplorer and the message shown was something like the Channel Connection is exhausted. Then we identified that there was some background process
running as shown below:
mqm 136766 9132 0 Apr 02 - 0:18 amqcrsta -m XZELANO
mqm 138594 9132 0 Apr 03 - 0:12 amqcrsta -m XZELANO
mqm 141834 9132 0 Apr 02 - 0:18 amqcrsta -m XZELANO

These are Channel restart agents which were running, there were around 96
processes which were running. And we were also able to see around 97
messages in the SYSTEM.DEAD.LETTER.QUEUE.we identified that all the messages in the queue were from WF, my problem is why there are
these messages in the Dead Letter Queue and why there are so many channel restart agents running without getting stopped.
