I'm having no success accessing the Update Manager from my dial-up notebook (IBMT40, preload WinXP) following CSD03 install. I keep getting:

Unable to access:
"ftp://ftp.software.ibm.com/software/mqseries/fixes/wbimbv50/discovery"

:with details:

Unable to access site streams: "ftp://ftp.software.ibm.com/software/mqseries/fixes/wbimv50/discovery" [sun.net.ftp.FtpProtocolException:LIST]
Unable to access site streams: "ftp://ftp.software.ibm.com/software/mqseries/fixes/wbimv50/discovery" [sun.net.ftp.FtpProtocaolException:RETR /software.ibm.com/software/mqseries/fixes/wbimv50/discovery/site.xml]

I have 'Use passive FTP' flag set, and am able to access the ftp site via IE, but have no idea what to try next. Any suggestions would be most helpful!

Tony,

Under CSD03, mine works fine.

If you're desperate you can always download the files manually, and point eclipse update at them.

How are you attempting to access the update site? I see you are trying to get to the discovery site rather than the interim fix site.

If needed, you can contact IBM support and get the updates you require sent in a zip.

Thanks for comments.
I am inclined to think that it may be a performance-related issue at the distribution website. On Monday I turned off the WinXP firewall and was then able to connnect to the Updates. I downloaded one of the three updates. I thought the firewall change might have solved the problem but when I tried later to connect again in order to obtain the other two files the connection failed with the original reason. However whe I retried yesterday it connected straightaway, discovered the remaining two updates and I was able to download them without difficulty.
I accessed the Updates from the workbench which appears to do discovery to compare the installed configuration with what is available in the way of new updates. As well at the interim fix (5.0.3.1) there were also documentation updates.

"If you're desperate you can always download the files manually, and point eclipse update at them": could you please tell me how to "point eclipse update" to a downloaded file ?

We've applied FP4 to our WBI5.0 on Win2000, regedit shows that we're at 5.01.4 but the Toolkit still shows 5.0.3. Do I need to invoke option "Software Update" from the toolkit to update the toolkit to FP4 ? If so, we have a firewall that prevents FTP access therefore we cannot access the IBM website from the Toolkit. I will have to download the CSD then point eclipse to it but can't find the procedure anywhere on the IBM website. Any help will be very appreciated.

Thanks

MVO,
You don't need to point Eclipse to downloaded file. Instead run the CSD4 EXE on the toolkit machine and it will update the Toolkit to CSD4 version.
