Greetings from a new guy! Great place you've got here.
I've got a bit of a situation here that's got me scratching my head. We're publishing changes to our customer & product databases via mq (as/400 V 5.2) & mqsi (v2.02).
The problem is that we've got some ancient applications that will need to receive and process these published messages. Some of these app's are written in Clipper version Summer '87 (yeah, I know), and are not within IT's control. We're working with the developer to get her up to speed on MQ - she should be able to connect thru a C linker she has.
The problem is what client to use. The apps are running on an NT4 server, but being C'87, they are Dos based. We've tried testing the DOS client from an NT box connecting to an NT MQ Server, but there appears to be a problem with TCP/IP under the dos window. We can ping the server. We can run a windows client - the sample programs work. We cannot get the Dos client programs to return anything but 2059 from it. The trace indicates a tcp/ip initialization problem.
Is there some secret trick to getting the NT tcp config recognized in the dos client? Is there some other way we should be headed?
