I am having troubles with the DB2 upgrade to 8 and it's
communication with MQSeries. I am getting this error message when I try
running some commands:

ERROR occured : UPDATE Category Sid failed !!.
SQLCODE : -998
SQL0998N Error occurred during transaction or heuristic processing.
Reason
Code = "9". Subcode = "". SQLSTATE=58005.

Does anyone know why this would be happening?

what's your platform version, OS version, and product version (DB2 and MQ)?

Try to see if your OS and DB2 meets the pre req for WMQ on that platform.

I am using:
MQ: 5.2
DB2 8.1
java 131
IBM AIX

Is DB2 8.1 not compatible with these?

MQ 5.2 is already out of support.

Based on the information I have, DB2 8.1 is not supported with MQ 5.2 on AIX.
