Major Position Responsibilities:
• Will serve as a MQ Series Administrator for OUR CLIENT.
• Responsible for the monitoring, maintenance, and customization of MQSeries.
• Responsible for evaluation, installation, and migration of new MQSeries versions.
• Analyze and tune MQSeries performance.
• Perform MQSeries problem analysis and provide technical assistance to other staff.
• Provide 24*7support in a rotation with other MQ staff members.
• Develop process and procedures related to MQSeries security, administration, recovery,
chargeback, and automation.
• Create and provide daily status reports to the Systems Integration team.
QUALIFICATIONS (Knowledge and Skills Required to do Job; Experience; Travel)
REQUIRED:
• (Experience (3 or more years) with administration of IBM MQSeries or WebSphere MQ
• Application coding experience with IBM WebSphere MQ (JCL, Cobol, JAVA, JAVA/JMS, C/C++); including debugging
• Experience with IBM WebSphere CICS adapter.
• Experience with IBM WebSphere MQI for connecting to MQ objects
• Experience with message security architecture (MQ v5.3 SSL)
• Ability to administer the message objects associated with all WebSphere MQ objects such as: queues (local, remote, alias & model), process definitions, channels, listeners)
• Workstation skills including Windows OS, MS Word, Excel and Remote Administration.
• Ability to communicate effectively at multiple levels of the company, customer, and user organizations, both verbally and in writing.
• Must be willing to carry beeper, and handle 7x24 support issues in rotation.
• Ability to travel overnight as needed to other OUR CLIENT offices.
• Ability to multi-task effectively on a variety of projects, tasks, and assignments.
• Take charge attitude and take ownership of providing a solution end to end.
• Experience working with different technical divisions such as mainframe, distributed systems & networks.
PREFERRED:
• Websphere MQ Certified Specialist
• Websphere MQ versions 5.2 & 5.3, troubleshooting & support
• Mercator experience
• Microsoft Windows Server Administration
• Unix Administration experience (SUN, AIX)
• Candle MQ management
• XML, C/C++ programming experience
• JAVA and JAVA/JMS programming experience
• OS/390 COBOL programming (building trigger monitors, alerts, & processing dead letter
queues
