I'm new to MQWF and creating FDLs. A WF trainer suggested exporting FDL as modules according to specific function in BuildTime. For example, we would create an FDL with only Staffing. In another FDL, we would store only Process definitions and so on. Of course, all together these FDL would be imported to Runtime. What are the best practices for FDL version control? [Keep in mind, we are already using Eclipse and CVS for Java development.] Thx. |

Take a look at WBI Server.. I believe it is a tool that does version control and a little more to boot.
Good Luck..

ur trainer was right. u can refer to the recent best practices guide for more info. the wbi workbench server is meant for version control .. very similar to the CVS ur using.. but using wbiwbserver u can have one 'file' containing multiple processes ..and u can control the versions at process level.. in adition the product as other features like web publisher and runs on WAS. _________________ shaker |

I too am trying to find a better way to version control Process models / Staff / network implementations that are created in Buildtime. CVS is our current Java repository as well.
Just trying to find out more info about how this worked / didn't work for version control.
Where can I find info on WBI Server? (or was it WBI workbench server)
Thanks

Still trying to find this on the IBM site. Any links directly to the WBI Workbench are broken or redirect me to another product as the Workbench has 'graduated'.
Any hints where I can find this tool/server? |

Ratan - thanks!
Unfortunately that gives me what I was looking for. I didn't realize it was 'formerly know as' Holosofx. Guess I was hoping it was a stand alone 'support pack' type of thing. (read free or cheap )
Looks like it's back to CVS & FDL's to give some working version control. |
