I have noticed in my task manager (Win2000, MQ v5.3) that there are 7 or 8 instances of amqxssvn.exe running. I have only 2 queue managers running (more defined, but only 2 running) on that machine.
I realize that these are 'shared memory' processes, and in researching understand they 'may' be related to the command server - but is it normal to have so many of them running at the same time? and each using 1.5+ megs of memory?
I have 2 or 3 different system admin connections via MQJexplorer, or the regular MQExplorer interface if that means anything...
Thanks

There is one of these per subpool per queue manager. 3 or 4 per qmgr is not suprising, and these are the shared memory servers - they allocate the shared memory on behalf of other processes (and keep it so it is not reclaimed by the o/s), so a large memory use is not unexpected (although 1.5Mb is not large). |
