I am running MQ 53 with CSD 5 on WinXP. It was working fine until a few days ago. I did some maintenace (upgrading software and cleaning up files). I am not sure if I did something wrong.
When I tried to start the explorer (start/program file/Websphere MQ/Webshere MQ explorer), it did not come up. I looked at the task manager. mmc.exe was running. When I started the MQ Servcies (start/program file/Websphere MQ/Webshere MQ services), it came up right away. If I start the explorer again, another mmc.exe showed up. But the explorer window never came up. Any idea ? |

That happened to me. I don't exactly recall what I did to resolve. It might have been as simple as a workstation reboot. _________________ Bob Perry

Yes, a reboot had fixed the problem 85% of time. The remaining 15% needed multiple reboots or actual power down. But I Like to know what could be the cause of the problem. I cannot reboot at will. |

No there was no error indication anywhere. I checked all amqerr01.log, event viewer and ffst. I also noticed that if I wait long enough (not sure how long, but it is long), the explorer may finally come up. Since I cannot reboot at will, I'll just do other things in other windows. The explorer may finally come up. |

Are you running any kind of VPN software. I've seen one that, unless you added mmc to the exclusion list, shipped the request out of the local machine, and only started after the 'remote' request had timed out.
