Hi All,

I'm working on implementing WBI modeller into a customer site and wonder if anyone has any configuration management 'best practices' advice.

The company had trialed the server repository during a proof of concept and had found it to be very unstable / un-usable. The best I can come up with is using the import functions to copy processes between testing phase repositories, however this can cause duplication of objects (processes, collaborations, etc) if you are not careful to delete from the target repository first.

For version mgmt we are zipping the whole org file and checking it into PVCS - this is very ugly - are there any other suggestions out there ??

Regards,
Don

We've had the same experience with the server product's version control features.

One option we're looking into is to use eclipse as an integration platform for configuration management. The plan is to use CVS as the process repository as well and to designate the WBI modeller as an external tool.

This doesn't provide process-level granularity but at least it provides real version control at the organization level. This approach should be sufficient for us until a better product comes along.

Caveat - this is our plan. We have no real experience to make judgements yet.
