Hi,
I am new to MQ Series. I have some design questions about the best practise to set up a fault tolerant system with MQ Series.
I have an application that has a primary and a hot standby process. I want to add MQ Series to this application.
I want the MQ Series to be fault tolerant aswell, otherwise I have a singel-point of failure in my system.
Can I setup so from the application point of view there is just one logical queue to connect to and
MQ Series decides what QM is the primary QM? I guess this will be done through clustering, is that correct?
The transmission channels, can I setup 2 pairs that goes over two diffrent net? If the first fails it should try the other
transmission channel, is that possible?
Is there any kind of documentation how to setup this kind of system?
thanks in advance,
Robin |

Yes, this will be through clustering.
BUT it will not be through MQSeries clustering. You will use your normal hardware clustering system for your platform - MSCS, Veritas, HACMP, and etc.
MQSeries gets configured as a participant service in the hardware/os clustering environment. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |
