I am getting this error when I try and create a queue manager on my machine. It seems that the SYSTEM.DEF.CLNTCONN cannot be created. I recently upgraded from 5.2 to 5.3 and then had problem creating client connection. I noticed that the AMQCLCHL.TAB was somehow deleted. So, I deleted the queue manager and completely reinstalled Websphere MQ, but now it doesnt seem to want to recreate it. Any ideas on what to do to get that back? _________________ IBM Certified Specialist: MQSeries

A guess, but have you got mqchl* env vars defined by any chance?
"strmqm -c QM" will recreate the default objects, but I am guessing the recreate tries to create it somewhere it cant because of these variables |

Yes, I had those variables defined. I suspected that was probably causing the problem so I deleted them and recreated the queue manager and everything was fine. I was unaware of the command that would allow you to recreate the default objects without actually deleting and recreating the queue manager. Thank you very much for that tip. _________________ IBM Certified Specialist: MQSeries
