I'm attempting to modify code to work on NT that was originally written on an OS/390 platform. I know the original code worked ok. I've modified the code and compiled it using Visual Age COBOL for Windows. When I process thru the code I can see that the MQCONN works OK (zero in the completion code and reason). However, when I use the HCONN returned from this connection call in the open call I always get a 2018. The value in the HCONN looks like a valid pointer to me and I have the HCONN field defined as it describes in the Application Programming Reference. Has anyone else run into problems with a 2018 on an open? I'm not sure what to look at because the initial connection works properly.

I'm not much of a Cobol person. However, I'd suggest that you take a look at one of the samples in the <xmp>install directorytoolscobolsamples</xmp>. It should shed some light on how to treat the connection handle.
