Hi,

I have a trigger defined on a queue, that invokes a application(process), the moment a message falls to the queue. Problem is, if the application takes X amt of time to do processing, there is a delay of time X, before it picks the second message off the queue. Meaning.. the processing is sequential/linear and the control is returned to the trigger monitor only after the application is finished.
Is there a way, to have multiple instances of application running or getting triggered off so that the processing time is reduced.

Thanks & Regards,
Vishal Agrawal

I don't think MQ can spawn multiple copies of your application. You should code your application in that way.

Hi,

I do this all the time on Unix and Windows NT/2000.

On Unix, I use nohup and '&' parameters for the commands. The most important thing to remember is that your program should not lock a resource that would be used in each running instance.
