Hi, all
I have been working MQSeries on a lot of platforms. yet, I need to
install and configurate MQSeries in a new platform for my new task.
- TANDEM NSK. I know MQSeries product quite well. Does any one
working on TANDEM NSK (installatiion & configuration) give me some
point or factors I need to take into consideration for this platform for
MQSeries.
By the way, it is ADOPTMCA parm. supported in TANDEM NSK
Thank for you message

Installation on NSK is no different and no harder than on any other platform.
http://www-306.ibm.com/software/integration/mqfamily/library/manual01/amqpac00/amqpac00tfrm.htm
Unpak the pak file for the product. Run instmqm. Verify the spooler jobs to see if there were any errors, if there were, correct them and re-run instmqm if needed(with any changes that may be required). That's it, you are all set.
As on any other platform, you need to create a group "mqm". It is advisible that you install the product using mqm.manager userid, but is not mandatory.
Yes, Adoptmca is supported on NSK.
Hope this helps.
Cheers

Kumar covered most of the major points very well. Some other considerations:
If you are not familiar with Tandem, you should review the crtmqm parameters with
some who is.
If you want to access the Tandem based Queue Manager from external tools make sure
you start the command server and start a listener. |

If the systems are running RDF (replication) Add the PARAM MQRDF "ON" to the pathway servers etc. I learned the hard way! |

Hank, Sorry that you had to face issues with RDF. But this param is clearly documented in the SAG in Appendix C.
