Hi ,
I am working on Tandem m/c.I have set my MAXDEPTH attribute of my local queue as 50,000 and tried to pump in messages by my program. But after pumping in 24,843 messages my program fails with a reason code 2071.
The suggested corrective action is make more main storage memory available. Can any one suggest me how to increase it on tandem machine.
Also i would like to know how to look MQ error logs on windows machine |

You need to use altmqfls utility on NSK to change the size of q and o files for the queue in question, which could be found in the "M" subvolume of your qm.
altmqfls --qsize(******)...
As for looking up error logs on NT. You can find qmgr wide error logs in the mqseries\qmgrs\<your qm>\errors directory for your qm. And if you wish to see system wide errors then you need to goto mqseries\errors.
Assuming your root directory for your MQ installation is mqseries.
Also, whats the size of messages. Syncpoint??? Persistent of course.
Cheers.

Luisfer, you are right.
Since altmqfls utility was there, i pointed that way. You could use Fup as well, though.
Cheers.

I think a 2071 error has nothing to do with the queue size and more to do with the program unable to allocate enough storage(ram). When we had this same error on HPUX, we had to bump up the MAX Data Segement Size.
The reason was due to the multithreading of the agent process and our use of 4MB Buffers. The agent allocated 4mb buffer for each thread well
it didnt take long to hit the 32mb space. _________________ Jeff
