I want to get the cardinality of the 'item' field in the XML below.

I am using the following ESQL set command but it doesn't seem to work!

Any help would be appreciated!

SET c = CARDINALIY (InputBody.RES.APP.RESULT.Z_RFC(XML.attr)Response.CHARACTERISTICS.item[])

<RES>
<APP>
<RESULT>
<Z_RFC.Response>
<PASS_ID>632133</PASS_ID>
<CHARACTERISTICS>
<item><NAME>JIM</NAME></item>
<item><NAME>BOB</NAME></item>
<item><NAME>RAY</NAME></item>
</CHARACTERISTICS>
</Z_RFC.Response>
</RESULT>
</APP>
</RES>

Try this:

SET c = CARDINALIY (InputBody.RES.APP.RESULT."Z_RFC.Response".CHARACTERISTICS.*[]);

this would give you the cardinality of fields present in "InputBody.RES.APP.RESULT."Z_RFC.Response".CHARACTERISTICS"

Are you sure about Z_RFC(XML.attr)Response

Hi,

this is CARDINALITY and not CARDINALIY

it should give something like that :

SET c = CARDINALITY (InputBody.RES.APP.RESULT."Z_RFC.Response".CHARACTERISTICS.item[])

Hi
It seems you are confusing with the period '.' in the element Z_RFC.Response is Response really an attribute of Z_RFC or its part of the complete element.
